Texas Racing Update

Due to Hurricane Ike doing considerable damage to Sam Houston Race Park, Sam Houston has canceled the Thoroughbred meet for this winter.

An agreement has been reached with Retama Park (San Antonio) to run 43 of those days.  This will begin on November 20, 2008 and run through February 28, 2009.  Due to these changes it is necessary we move the date of the Lone Star Futurities from December 6, 2008 to December 13th (back one week) and the Yellow Rose and Six Shooter which is scheduled for the last weekend in march 2009 will be moved to the last weekend in February 2009.  There aren't any Texas tracks racing in March except Manor Downs and that is not a good option.  (You will receive more details later.)

Arabians will be racing at Lone Star Park through the end of November.  The first Arabian race at Retama Park will be Thursday, December 4, 2008. and will have two races per week through February 28, 2009 except Christmas Day and New Years Day when the track is closed.  We will have only one race those two weeks.

I hope this does not create an inconvenience for you but is the best we can do under the circumstances.
