Arabian Racing Cup

Darley Award ceremony moved to San Antonio, Texas for 2009 – So much damage was done to Sam Houston Race Park, site of the Texas Six Shooter and Texas Yellow Rose, that it was forced to cancel its 2009 meet. As a result, these important races were moved to Retama Park to be run the weekend of February 27, 2009. For many involved in Arabian racing, this would mean they would be in California for the Drinkers and Daughters the end of January, the Darleys in Scottsdale and the Texas Stakes both in February and only a week apart. With the economy the way it is, the stewards thought that was too much to ask people to commit to. To ease the situation, they voted to change the date and location of the Darley Awards from Scottsdale, AZ to San Antonio, TX.

Therefore, the awards ceremony will be held in San Antonio on Saturday night, February 28th. Surrounding the Darleys will be the Triple Crown races on Friday night, a new owners seminar, and welcome reception.
