I have always loved horses, and grew up competing in horse shows every weekend possible. My need for speed launched my career in horse racing when I was 17. I dreamed of becoming a jockey and worked very hard to fulfill that dream. I have had an exciting and successful career in the world of horse racing as a Jockey, Trainer, and exercise rider. I have ridden top class horses, galloped two Kentucky Derby runners, and worked all across America and Canada. I spent three winter race seasons in Dubai, UAE working for HH Sheikh Hamdan’s Red Stable, where I galloped both thoroughbreds and Arabians.
I have since retired from my daily dream job to take a creative path, and it is the path that has driven me to promote the sport that I love. As a producer, I work on national shows with NBC and ESPN horse racing, as well as working as Senior Producer with my company, Kylar Productions. I covered the US Arabian Grade 1 races held in Kentucky at both Keeneland and Churchill Downs, producing content for Abu Dhabi TV and Emirates Equestrian Federation. I also produced a feature for the Arabian Jockey Club promoting the Arabian horse exhibit at the Kentucky Horse Park. I am proud to be the recipient of the 2014 Darley Award for Best TV Presenter, and served as the US representative on the Media and Communications panel at the 2014 World Arabian Horse Racing Conference in London.
I am the co-founder and Racing Manager of Sport of Queens Racing syndicate in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I manage a group of members who have invested in thoroughbred horse ownership, and provide monthly meetings and social events to educate and entertain our group to develop racing fans and new owners.
My expertise in communication and creative mindset benefit my role as Racing Manager. My skill set includes horse selection – making decisions to bring the horse along at its own pace, and trainer selections – placing horses with trainers to give them the best chance at excelling once their racing career begins. Most horses, managed and spotted wisely, can progress to very successful careers. I have a strong horsemanship foundation and over 30 years of professional experience in racing. I have the ability to travel to various venues throughout the year to watch the horses train and race. I am committed to representing owners and managing the horses as if they were my own.
Open and honest communication is imperative, keeping owners abreast of situations in a timely manner.
I am passionate about introducing new people to racing, which makes partnership management all the more fun. Looking forward to sharing that experience in Arabian racing partnerships with you.
