Nomination Form and Entries: The nomination form for this race is on the AJC website as well as the Churchill Downs website. The Arabian race is tentatively scheduled as the 10th race on the card. Entered stakes horses will be notified by telephone by Churchill Downs personnel after the time of entry closing. This race is an invitational race.

Licensing: For Arabian owners, trainers, assistant trainers, jockeys, and jockey agents, the annual fee is $35.00 for this race only. You may obtain your license on the grounds in the licensing office or you can download the form, fill it out and mail in your payment. Be sure that your payment is postmarked by June 1, 2019, to ensure that it is processed in time. Health Requirements for Horses to enter Stable area: All horses including lead ponies seeking entrance to the stable area shall be accompanied by a current negative EIA Test (aka Coggins) and be listed on a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) with the examination and issuance of the certificate being signed and dated by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours prior to arrival.

Equine Herpes: Additionally, each horse seeking entrance to the stable area shall be vaccinated against Equine Herpes Virus Type 1 (EHV-1) by a licensed veterinarian a minimum of 14 days and no more than 120 days prior to entry into the stable area. Once a horse receives the initial EHV-1 vaccination, revaccination is required every 120 days. Please note that the minimum of 14-day vaccine requirement applies only to horses that have not been vaccinated for EHV-1 during the preceding 120 days.

For each horse, the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) shall indicate the date of the horse’s vaccination and the specific vaccine product used.

In addition to the requirements for entering and stabling of horses at Churchill downs, the State Veterinary Office asks that horsemen maintain a temperature chart on each horse and that they report immediately to their veterinarian and track officials any temperature 1.5 degrees above the animal’s normal at-rest temperature.

Owners/Trainers of Stakes Horses:  Each stakes race horse will receive a table of eight in the stakes room for the owner and trainer. If additional seats are needed, they can be purchased through Vicki Tomlinson. Vicki can be contacted at Vicki.Tomlinson@kyderby.com.

Churchill Downs utilizes a Box Office where all of your credentials for entering the grounds and the stakes dining room will be held. The Will Call window is located in the box office beside the paddock entrance/gate.

IMPORTANT DRESS CODE INFORMATION: The sponsor and the host track have both requested that the dress code be strictly adhered to in the saddling paddock, winners circle and stakes rooms. Suits and/or sports coats with ties or bow ties for men, and business or cocktail attire for women.
