The owner-trainer-jockey team of Guy Neivens, Elizabeth M. Merryman, and Ramon Guce were the shining stars at Lone Star Park winning both divisions of the Grade III $20,000 Arabian Racing Cup Stallion Stakes.

VALIANT BOY SBFAR, the six-year-old horse by DARWEESH out of THUMB PRINT, by BAROUR DE CARDONNE, continued his seven-race winning streak to make it eight straight after his win in the colt & gelding division.

VALIANT BOY SBFAR raced just off the pace, then made a late bid on the backstretch, gained the lead in the second turn, and responded well when set down for the stretch drive, holding off a fast closing RB RICH for the win under strong urging.

For those who wagered on the race VALIANT BOY SBFAR, the 0.30-1 favorite returned $2.60, $2.10 and $2.00. SB RICH was up for the place and returned $5.00 and $2.00. AIM HI returned $1.00 for the show. PADDYS DAY; SAND CHAMP; FASTANDFURIOUS; RB MOOSE and MISTER EDD completed the order of finish. DEEBAL and RB SO RICH were scratched from the race.

Fractions for the race were 27.04; 53.93 and 1:35.70. Final time for the one mile contest was 1:50.07 over a fast main track surface.

With the winner’s share of the purse, VALIANT BOY SBFAR increased in bankroll to $316,835. His career record now reads 20-12-3-1.

RB BURN BABY BURN Brings Home the Prize for the Same Connections in Filly and Mare Division

It was another win for the team of Neivens, Merryman, and Guce when RB BURN BABY BURN, a four-year-old daughter of TH RICHIE and BURNING FIRESTAR, by BIG EASY, won the Grade III Arabian Racing Cup Stallion Stakes, filly & mare division by a length over DC WILLEYS SONG. It was another length and a half to third place finisher, SAND ON FIRE.

RB BURN BABY BURN covered the one mile distance in fractions of 27.05; 54.07 and 1:37.00. Final time was 1:52.38 over a fast track.

Mutuels for the winning 0.90-1 favorite returned $3.80, $3.00 and $2.40. DV WILLEYS SONG returned $6.40 and $3.60 for the place, and SAND ON FIRE paid $4.40 for show.

BREEZELL LSP; DORMANES FANTASY CS; MY VAZ IS HOT; DJETS TIGRESS; FLEUR DAMOUR and GOGO DANCER CS completed the order of finish.

With the winner’s share of the purse, RB BURN BABY BURN increased her earnings to $90,200. Her career record now reads 15-7-2-3.
